A committee of representatives from Midway Renaissance, Midway City Council, and the Midway Business Association will meet on Tuesday, July 27 at City Hall - 5:30pm - to plan the Midway Market Study, a project funded by a Renaissance grant from the Office of the Governor’s Department for Local Government.
The meeting is open to the public.
The group will initially develop a Request for Proposals from consultants, a timeline for the Study, and a list of outcomes they want the Study to address. A Market Study can help local government and citizens understand the strengths and challenges faced by their downtown area and provide recommendations to guide economic revitalization efforts.

Nearly 2,000 cyclists rode down Main Street in Midway on May 29 during the 33rd annual Horsey Hundred, a Bluegrass Cycling Club event that draws riders from all over the country. Midway Renaissance hosted a Rest Stop in the Community Garden behind Midway Presbyterian Church, serving up snacks & inviting riders to come back Saturday night to shop, dine, and enjoy a NewFound Road concert at the Thoroughbred Theater. Many folks did indeed return, and downtown was hoppin'!
This year's official ride shirt, pictured above, bears the artwork of our own Pam Thomas!

Midway Renaissance is in the process of developing its 2010 Work Plan – the annual goal statement that guides our focus for the year. The board invites citizen input on ideas for inclusion in the Plan. Ideas related to the traditional Main Street categories of Design (including historic preservation), Promotion (including events and tourism), and Economic Restructuring (including downtown business development and retention) are sought. Renaissance includes a strong component of community-building and the arts, and we welcome your submission of ideas in these areas as well.
Midway Renaissance is a certified Mainstreet Program recognized by the Kentucky Heritage Council.
